This Privacy Policy describes how Cap That Game ("Cap That", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up using Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from the identity provider.
- Gameplay data. We store the lobbies you create or join, the captions you submit, the memes served to your rounds, and game outcomes. This is required to run the multiplayer experience.
- User-generated content. If you upload custom photos to a room, those images are stored on our cloud storage provider for the duration of the game.
- Purchase data. If you purchase Cap That Pro, we receive a purchase receipt from Apple or Google via our payments provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your payment card information.
- Device and usage data. We may log basic diagnostic information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash reports to keep the Service running reliably.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To host and deliver multiplayer gameplay.
- To process in-app purchases and restore them across devices.
- To moderate content and keep the Service safe (see Section 4).
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about updates or support requests.
3. Third-Party Services
We share limited information with the following processors, strictly to operate the Service:
- Apple & Google — authentication (Sign In with Apple / Google Sign In) and in-app purchase processing.
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage of images you upload to custom rooms.
- Klipy — sourcing trending memes for gameplay rounds.
- OpenAI — automated content moderation of captions and uploaded images.
- Railway — application hosting.
These providers have their own privacy practices and we encourage you to review them.
4. Content Moderation
Captions and uploaded images may be screened by automated systems to filter content that violates our Terms of Service, including NSFW or hateful content. Flagged content may be blocked or removed.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can request account deletion from within the app, or by emailing us at the address below.
7. Children's Privacy
Cap That is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Transfers
Our service providers may process your data in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
